December 2021 Astrology Forecast
The astrology for December opens with Neptune’s direct station at 20’ Pisces. Though significant like Uranus and Pluto stations, the energy of Neptune covers a wider surface area than Venus or Mercury.
The effects of Neptune stations can also be quite subtle.
Closing the first week is the total solar eclipse in Sagittarius, taking place December 4th. As stated last month, I view at eclipses as chapter points, beginning a new story while ending another. The nodes which play a major role in the eclipse cycles are getting ready to change signs in January, ushering in a new 18-month eclipse series in a fresh new set of signs.
Like new moons, Solar eclipses can herald new beginnings, but not with the same clarity that they usually might.
With eclipses there’s a temporary short-out in life’s circuitry. It can feel like having to feel your way through a dark tunnel. As such we’re left to rely on our senses if we intend to grow with any sudden changes this eclipse might present.
The full moon in Gemini arrives ahead of the holidays December 18th. Full Moons represent moments of revelation and release.
With this Full Moon, we have a chance to go over those aspects of Mercury and Gemini that might have showed up during the month or even throughout the year: significant information, conversations, messages and other written works.Taking into account how these may shape or influence our futures may take precedence now.
The last week of December features aspects that slow us down and take us inward: three conjunctions open the week, featuring one which I’m unofficially calling the Christmas Conjunction.
Venus at 25’ Capricorn conjoins Pluto at 25’ on…you guessed it, the 25th!
Numerological speculations aside, this conjunction carries both subtlety and intensity. In many ways this conjunction fits the framework of the archetypal Persephone/Hades myth. There’s definitely a sense of Venus stepping into the underworld her.
I’ve said it already but it bears repeating: Venus and Pluto conjoined will be present energetically for a while. As such, don’t be surprised if you find a re-hashing of the themes presented over the months to come.
Generally though, this is an aspect that can bring to light desires and impulses tucked away in the subconscious. Venus is beginning a period of reassessment. While this ultimately can be cathartic, making space for better relationships and such, it’s both challenging and uncomfortable.
Pluto’s effect on Venus may potentially exacerbate those feelings of discomfort, creating a sense lack that some may obsessed trying to fulfill. This could result in the appearance of unresolved emotions or parts of the self appearing that you otherwise thought were under control.
